Perstorp takes over R&D site in Finland

Perstorp took over legal responsibility for the R&D centre Sköldvik in Porvoo, Finland, which the Group formerly leased, from Dynea, on 3 October 2005. Sköldvik is the largest petrochemical centre in the Nordic region, where a number of major chemical Groups run R&D activities.

This means that there is a welldeveloped infrastructure, high-tech equipment and excellent opportunities for cooperation and exchanging know-how.

“Perstorp is now taking over total R&D responsibility for the site, which is in line with our strategic investment for R&D. We believe in the Finnish business, and coupled with our other R&D sites it provides opportunities to run a world class, customer-oriented R&D operation,” says Lars Peter Lindfors, Executive Vice President Renewal & Development.

The unit in Finland has 25 employees and the site will operate under the Perstorp name from 4 October 2005, via the Finnish company Perstorp Oy.

The Perstorp Group also runs R&D from its plants in Perstorp, Sweden, and Vapi, India, where an R&D site is being developed. The R&D activities are run in project form with resources from the various sites for the most effective use of available skills. Perstorp Renewal & Development employs around 100 people.
