Akestra™ can replace approximately 100,000 tons of virgin fossil polystyrene (PS) plastic that is used every year in hot-fill food applications across Europe, reducing the annual CO₂ emissions associated with the packaging material ideally by up to 70% or in net numbers 375 000 tons of emissions per year, cradle to grave.
