Year in review with Pro-Environment Solutions
2019 has been an eventful year for our Pro-Environment Solutions, filled with important milestones, great achievements and taking us a step closer to our ambition to become Finite Material Neutral. Here are some highlights from 2019!
Already in January, we could celebrate one year with our Pro-Environment Polyols; Evyron™, Neeture™ and Voxtar™, setting our ambition to become Finite Material Neutral. At the European Coatings Show 2019, we introduced Pro-Environment Solutions, expanding our certified Pro-Environment concept to include several new renewable product families and a new service offer designed to support customers to go Pro-Environmental. Three new polyol product families were added to our portfolio:
- Charmor™ Pro for intumescent coatings
- Curalite™ Ox Pro for cationic UV curing
- Holtac™ Pro for lead-free PVC
In addition, our Site Bruchhausen in Germany got ISCC certified and produced and sold Voxtar™ (renewable Penta) for the first time in May 2019. With Site Bruchhausen, Perstorp now has three sites which are producing Pro-Environment products, the other two being Site Stenungsund and Site Perstorp in Sweden. In correlation with the annual K-Fair Conference – a leading fair for the plastics industry, the INOVYN Awards 2019 ceremony took place. Perstorp was nominated and won silver in the category Sustainable Innovation with our new development Pevalen™ Pro. The award is truly a recognition that Perstorp’s strategy to become Finite Material Neutral, keeps us ahead of the industry but in pace with the market. November 6th, we broke ground for our new Penta plant in Gujarat, India, to secure a long-term presence in the growth region of Asia. Our state-of-the-art plant for production of Penta, including the renewable grade, Voxtar™, will provide up to 60% reduced carbon footprint. The commercial production is planned to start in Q1 2022.
