Business Manager - Polyols

We need a new superstar to join our Business management team for one of our core business areas.

The overall responsibility includes

Developing and implement product strategy and agree and align on related targets and actions throughout the organization.

Drive long-term profit optimization through price guidelines, market and product portfolio expansion, and customer interface development.

In-depth understanding about important product trends within the relevant regions and the competitive landscape.

Work assignments

Tactical & Operational responsibilities

  • Set and drive targets on price levels, net sales, margin contribution and market share and activities cross the organization
  • Monitor and map external factors like; macro drivers, competitor activities and global import/export affecting overall supply/demand balance
  • Lead and drive a continuous dialogue with sales to track and drive customer developments, challenges & opportunities
  • Active participation in the IBP process to sign off on the demand plans and provide a regional summary of the outlook on financial delivery

In conjunction with other regional BMs in the Polyols business:

  • Actively prioritize product allocations under sales control.
  • Active ownership of product specifications, Responsible care requirements and documentation along with master data managemen

Strategic development

  • Develop product strategies based on current and future market fit, competitive environment and Perstorp priorities in alignment with Strategic Markets & Innovation for strategic segments.
  • Concretize and cascade product strategy execution. Set and follow up on targets and action plans to execute on strategic product ambitions
  • Participate actively in the development and implementation of sales and distribution strategy.
  • Develop and optimize existing product portfolio, adhering to Perstorp’s sustainability goals, including SKU optimization and packaging improvements. Support the Strategic Markets & Innovation to launch new products from the innovation portfolio.
  • Develop and build regional sales plans, activities and materials clearly defining Perstorp existing product and service offerings along with Perstorp USPs
  • Broaden customer interface creating relations with existing business.

Your part

  • Educational background in Chemicals/Engineering/Business
  • At least 5-10 years’ experience in business or commercial areas
  • Experience from business strategy implementation
  • Experience from developing new segments and markets
  • Business and commercial oriented mind, understanding of the mechanisms behind decisions and routing within the chemical industry as well as the need of collaboration with industry peers.
  • Influential management skills
  • Data management and analytical skills
  • Willingness to travel as needed (approximately 70 days/year).
  • Fluent in English (other languages a plus)
