Perstorp partnering with 3D4makers

Both Perstorp and 3D4Makers saw an opportunity in the market for a novel 3D filament. Many existing filaments are simply not suitable for manufacturing. From a customer perspective, users reported many issues with the printability of existing filaments and the mechanical qualities of printed parts. Problems include layer adhesion, warping, surface quality and misprints. Hence, a clear opportunity exists to improve strength, throughput, and the mechanical qualities of materials.

By combining the deep insights of both companies into the 3D printing process along with user feedback, and after extensive testing, the Facilan portfolio has been developed. It is the first 3D printing material suitable for manufacturing applications and is aimed at companies who want to use 3D printing in high throughput operations as well as high quality prototyping applications. Both Perstorp and 3D4Makers are committed to bringing this next generation of 3D printing materials to market through a joint collaboration that will serve customers with the toughest requirements in medical and manufacturing using 3D printing.

The portfolio consists of Facilan C8, Facilan HT and Facilan Ortho, which demonstrate some of the best mechanical qualities of any 3D printing filament for their respective applications.

Facilan C8 is a step change in 3D printing enabling the best-looking parts at the best dimensional accuracy. Developed for high throughput manufacturing applications of consumer-friendly parts, it has excellent mechanical qualities and a luxurious soft touch feel.
