In order to improve its service to an expanding customer base in the region, leading specialty chemicals company Perstorp opened a sales office in Dubai June 1st this year. The sales office serves the company’s customers in the Middle East, Africa and Turkey.

“This is an expansive region for all of our products, but in particular for our traditional polyalcohols as well as various acids and formates,” says Regional Sales Manager Maj-Lis Lindberg Pålsson. ”Therefore it is important for us to be close to the market and our customers. We want to be able to offer our very best service.”

Although the Middle East/Africa/Turkey region is the only region in the world where Perstorp has not had a local sales office until now, the company has successfully done business there since the seventies. In the Jebel Ali free zone, where the sales office is located, many of Perstorp’s customers have production.

“Dubai is an important trade centre in the Middle East. By being present there we can see more and hear more. It is important not only for our sales activities, but also for other functions of the company,” says Per Westberg, Director of Sales and Marketing.

Perstorp’s recent acquisitions have further increased the company’s customer base in the area, and Per Westberg is full of expectations for the future: “Middle East/Africa is an important part of our business for several product groups today. I am confident we will see more of our products in focus over there in a not too distant future,” he finishes.
