Perstorp expands data center liquid cooling portfolio

As data centers face rising heat loads from AI, high-performance computing, and growing power density, the need for safer and more efficient liquid cooling has never been greater. For data center designers, equipment manufacturers, and operators, this shift means choosing cooling fluids that protect both performance and expensive hardware. To meet these demands, Perstorp is expanding its liquid cooling portfolio with Synplate™, a new line of synthetic dielectric fluids for cold plate cooling, and new grades added to its Synmerse™ DC immersion cooling portfolio.

Perstorp is launching the Synplate™ line of synthetic dielectric fluids for cold plate cooling, developed to support the growing demand for cold plate cooling in high-performance data centers. The Synplate™ fluids are engineered to deliver reliable heat transfer, strong dielectric performance, and broad material compatibility, helping ensure safe, efficient, and long-lasting operation. 

  • Synplate™ DC: A first-of-its-kind dielectric fluid designed for reliable thermal performance and material compatibility in cold plate cooling systems, supporting high-performance electronics and simplifying thermal management  

In addition to the expansion of the indirect cooling market, the needs of the immersion cooling have grown and diversified. In response to this, Perstorp has expanded its offering to accommodate the needs of different data centers with new products in the Synmerse™ DC line: 

  • Synmerse™ DC-L: An ultra-low viscosity fluid designed for exceptional thermal performance. It enables fast, efficient heat transfer in high-density environments and features a strong sustainability profile, including biogenic carbon content  
  • Synmerse™ DC-Lx: An ultra-low viscosity fluid with material compatibility for current generation hardware systems with excellent thermal performance  
  • Synmerse™ DC-R: Designed for data centers with the highest fire safety requirements, it has a high flash point (over 260°C, which meets the requirements of the Japanese Fire Service Act (消防法 ) ) while maintaining a balanced viscosity

All fluids are PFAS-free, engineered with safety in mind, and developed to support lower environmental impact across the value chain.

Perstorp will showcase fully operational immersion and cold plate cooling systems using the new Synmerse™ DC and Synplate™ DC fluids at Data Centre World London 2026. At the Perstorp booth E192, visitors will be able to experience the fluids in action and engage with Perstorp’s technical experts about performance, safety, and sustainability.
