Neptem™ emulsifiers

Neptem™ is a versatile family of emulsifiers that enables formulators to create high-performance waterborne alkyds across a wide range of oil lengths, including grades previously considered “non-convertible.”

With Neptem™, formulators can easily produce stable alkyd emulsions that deliver excellent gloss retention, water resistance, and optimized drying times. The technology also supports low-VOC formulations, helping customers reduce emissions without compromising performance.

Charmor™ for intumescent coatings

Charmor™ is a carbon donor used in intumescent coatings for passive fire protection. When exposed to heat, it forms an insulating char layer that slows down fire spread and protects structural materials.

The Charmor™ Pro range offers renewable content and a reduced carbon footprint, helping formulators meet both safety and sustainability goals.

Dispersing Monomers

Dispersing monomers such as Dimethylolpropionic Acid (DMPA® & Bis-MPA™) and Ymer™ play a vital role in creating water-dispersible polyurethane and polyester resins. Their structure enables resin systems that combine toughness, flexibility, and chemical resistance with low VOC levels, a key step toward more sustainable coatings.

Perstorp’s dispersing monomers are trusted enablers for waterborne coatings, helping formulators replace solvent-based systems without compromising on performance. They enable clear, stable dispersions that deliver durability and smooth film formation.

Allyl Ethers

Allyl ethers such as TMPME (Trimethylolpropane Monoallyl Ether) and TMPDE80 (Trimethylolpropane Diallyl Ether 80) are versatile products for fast-curing and high-gloss coatings. TMPME works well as a reactive crosslinker - often used in automotive coatings and silicone-based systems.

TMPDE80, is ideal for unsaturated polyester resins and UV-curable systems that need direct gloss and quick curing, helping deliver smooth finishes and durable surfaces.

BRB Silicone additives

As part of PCG Specialty Chemicals, Perstorp is proud to complement its offer with BRB’s silicone additives. These additives bring exceptional flow, leveling, and foam control to waterborne coatings. They help coatings spread evenly, prevent surface defects, and improve appearance.

Designed for today’s low-VOC systems, these additives ensure a high-quality finish and smooth application with performance that’s both effective and environmentally responsible.
