Whistleblowing

What is a Whistleblower?

A whistleblower is an individual who, based on information acquired in a work-related context,  reports breaches of law, misconduct, or other irregularities within an organization.  This may involve raising concerns internally to the company’s leadership, a responsible colleague, or externally to competent authorities.

Whistleblowing at Perstorp

At Perstorp, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the EU Whistleblower Directive  and relevant national laws, is a top priority. We are committed to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct. To support this, we provide secure and confidential channels for reporting suspected misconduct. We encourage anyone with reasonable grounds to believe a breach has occurred or is likely to occur to speak up without fear of retaliation.

Reports may relate to, but are not limited to:

  • Suspected bribery
  • Corruption
  • Fraud
  • Embezzlement
  • Tax evasion
  • Human rights violations
  • Breaches of competition laws
  • Insider trading
  • Data protection issues
  • Or other violations of EU law, our code of conduct or ethical guidelines

Our whistleblower processes are open to employees, former employees, job applicants, contractors, suppliers, customers, and any other individuals who have become aware of relevant concerns.

How to Report (Blow the Whistle)

Employees are encouraged to report suspected non-compliance with our Code of Conduct or applicable laws through our internal whistleblowing function, which supports anonymous reporting. You may also raise concerns directly with your immediate manager, the Head of HR, or the Head of Legal.

External and Third-Party Reporting

Individuals who are not employees of Perstorp, including customers, suppliers, business partners, contractors, and other third parties, may submit a whistleblowing report via PETRONAS WhistleNOW, the PETRONAS Group whistleblowing platform.

Reports may be submitted at any time and can be made anonymously or with identification. All reports are handled confidentially and in accordance with applicable laws and the PETRONAS Group whistleblowing framework.

  • We will acknowledge receipt of your report within 7 days.
  • A designated impartial person or department will diligently follow up on the report, which may include requesting further information from you.
  • You will receive feedback on the progress and outcome of any investigation within a reasonable timeframe, not exceeding 3 months from acknowledgment. In complex cases, this may be extended to 6 months, and you will be informed.
  • Reports are investigated promptly, fairly, and independently to the extent possible, even if anonymous.

Protection

Perstorp strictly prohibits any form of retaliation against individuals who report in good faith (i.e., with a reasonable belief that the information is true), including:

  • Dismissal, demotion, or suspension
  • Reduction in pay or benefits
  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination
  • Any other detrimental treatment

This protection applies even if the investigation later shows the reported facts were mistaken or the concern did not constitute a breach, provided the report was made honestly and not maliciously or knowingly false.

We maintain the confidentiality of your identity to the maximum extent permitted by law. Personal data in reports is processed in compliance with GDPR.

We encourage you to speak up—your report helps us identify and address issues quickly, reinforcing our commitment to integrity and our core values.
