The global chemicals industry continues to face weak demand, structural overcapacity and shifting trade patterns, while European producers face increasing competitive cost disadvantages. In response, Perstorp today announces further steps to align its organisation and ways of working with market conditions and long-term priorities. It is expected that approximately 140 employees in Sweden will be affected.
As the chemical industry and market environment continue to evolve, and the timing and strength of a recovery remain uncertain, it is important that the organisation remains appropriately aligned with current needs and future priorities. Following a thorough review of its organisation and operating model, Perstorp aims to simplify structures, clarify accountabilities and focus resources on activities that create the greatest value for customers and the business.
The final scope, estimated number of employees affected globally, and timing of the proposed adjustments are subject to applicable information, consultation and engagement requirements in the relevant jurisdictions, including with employee representatives and relevant authorities.
