Your work will be key to maintaining efficient, compliant, and value-driven procurement processes across the entire project lifecycle.
About the position
As Director of Project Procurement, you will lead a strategically important function within PCG Project & Engineering organization, with the overall responsibility to ensure that all investment projects are resourced with the right procurement and contracting expertise. - Ensure alignment with corporate compliance requirements, PETRONAS/PCG ways of working, and external legislation — in close collaboration with Procurement Excellence
- Lead or provide subject-matter expertise in Project Procurement and Contracting across the PCG SC investment portfolio
- Build and maintain long-term, value-driven relationships with key suppliers to secure competitive and strategic contracts
- Arrange competitive commercial agreements to ensure reliable delivery of equipment and services
- Secure PCG SC’s in-house access to specialist competencies in Project Procurement and Project Contracting to meet current and future project needs
- Recruitment and onboarding of both permanent employees and consultants to build a high-performing team
- Oversee team resource planning in alignment with project needs and work processes, ensuring effective competence utilization and a healthy work-life balance
- Coach and support team members in their professional growth, aligning development plans with evolving business requirements

To succeed in this role, you bring:
- A Master’s degree or equivalent relevant qualifications
- Extensive experience in contracting for major capital investments (e.g., EPCm, EPCC or similar frameworks), preferably from the chemical, petrochemical or specialty chemical sector.
- Strong legal acumen related to procurement in capital investment projects
- At least 10 years of relevant experience within global technology or procurement functions in an international environment
- A strategic mindset and ability to translate global frameworks into practical, local execution
- Proven project management skills with a strong track record of leading complex, cross-functional assignments
- Excellent leadership and change management capabilities
- High level of business acumen and the ability to influence and align stakeholders effectively
- Strong diplomatic and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and drive collaboration
- Full professional proficiency in English
