The role of water in piglet weaning programs without zinc oxide
The imminent ban on the therapeutic use of zinc oxide (ZnO) in pig production in the EU is a consequence of the sanitary and environmental risks posed by the use of ZnO, by the Committee for Veterinary Medicinal Products (CVMP) in 2019. From the producer's perspective, its application does nothing but adding more complexity to the already highly demanding task of producing pigs efficiently and profitably.

The importance of Feed Hygiene in Zinc Oxide reduction
Pharmacological doses of ZnO were commonly added to piglet diets to support gut health and reduce the incidence of PWD, reducing mortality rates and the long-term improved performance of the animal. However, that option is no longer available to pig producers.

Global specialty chemicals leader Perstorp announces new investors to accelerate the next stage of growth
Perstorp will be transferred from PAI Europe IV fund to a new fund managed by PAI Partners with Landmark Partners as lead investor, alongside other co-investors; PAI Partners will reinvest significantly in the transaction. In addition to the transfer, Landmark Partners and its co-investors have committed c. EUR 130 million to Perstorp for growth opportunities.

Perstorp upgraded to B- by S&P
S&P Global Ratings announced on 23 July 2018 that it has upgraded its long-term issuer credit rating for Perstorp Holding AB to B-. The outlook is stable. Concurrently, S&P announced that it is raising the issue rating on Perstorp’s Euro and USD Senior Secured Notes to B and that it is raising the issue rating on the Company’s Second Lien Secured notes to CCC and the issue rating on Prague CE Sarl’s Subordinated Notes to CCC.
