As a world leader in several specialty chemicals sectors, Perstorp offers extensive opportunities to engage in international investments and development projects. Our new owner, PCG (PETRONAS Chemicals Group), provides a stable foundation with a long-term vision for sustained growth.

At Perstorp, we create chemistry that makes a difference — from sustainable technologies to innovations that improve daily life. We are now looking for a Manager Electrical Engineering to join our team, where you will lead and develop a team of skilled engineers in a role with significant impact.

About the position

As Manager Electrical Engineering at Perstorp, you will be part of our global technical organization, TDI (Technological Design & Investments), with a global scope across projects and production sites within the PCG Specialty Chemicals division. TDI plays a central role in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to our production facilities worldwide.

In this role, you will lead high-performing engineering teams responsible for electrical power systems and infrastructure, essential to our project execution and investment ambitions. You will ensure reliability, safety, and compliance of electrical systems supporting manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for resource planning, competence development, and ensuring your team has the right tools and support to succeed. At the same time, you will drive improvements in automation processes, technical standards, and engineering methodologies.

While your primary focus is leadership and team development, you will also engage operationally in projects, either as project manager or project resource. Reporting to senior leadership, you will collaborate closely with specialists across the organization and have the opportunity to influence Perstorp’s technical direction.

What You’ll Do

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Be a present and supportive leader, guiding and developing team members through clear direction, regular reviews, and growth conversations

  • Oversee resource planning and ensure the team has the capabilities, tools, and environment needed to deliver successful projects

  • Coach and mentor individuals in their career growth and technical development

  • Collaborate with GTI leadership to improve organizational structures, workflows, standards, and engineering tools

  • Lead or participate in project steering committees

  • Actively contribute to project execution as project lead or engineering resource when needed

  • Ensure work is conducted with strong focus on quality, safety, and sustainability

Who are we looking for?

You bring a solid technical background in electrical engineering, preferably from the chemical or process industry, and enjoy balancing hands-on problem solving with strategic thinking. You are self-reliant, organized, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

You have proven experience in a leadership role (e.g. project lead, team lead or similar) and a genuine interest in leadership, ownership, and continuous improvement.

You are fluent in English, written and spoken, and comfortable working in an international environment with site visits. You are detail-oriented while able to see the bigger picture, with a clear interest in sustainability and innovation.

As a leader, you are approachable, communicative, and committed to supporting others’ development. You value structure and accountability, while also being willing to challenge established ways of working when improvements can be made.

What We Offer

At Perstorp, you’ll join a global and innovative organization with sustainability and technological advancement at its core. As Manager Electrical Engineering, you will have the opportunity to shape future electrical solutions.

We offer a collaborative work environment, strong focus on professional development, and competitive benefits including flexible working arrangements, pension, and wellness initiatives. You will become part of an organization with over 100 years of history, where your leadership and ideas can make a real difference.
