Perstorp South-East Asia road show
Last month South-East Asia was the centre of attention for Perstorp Performance Additives. A 'road show', led by Dr. Albert van Dijk and Dr. Chanyuth Likhitphadungkit, introduced some new products and elaborated on the existing product range. The road show visited Indonesia, Thailand and Bangladesh. Several trainings were given on how to use the products, and during a seminar presentation ProPhorce® PH was explained to livestock producers and feed mills.

Perstorp Waspik moves into new office building
On Friday November 6 the entire office of Perstorp Waspik had packed their things to move into a completely new office building. A solid 9 or so hours later all of the moving was done and everyone would start the following Monday in their new location. The route to work has not changed though, since the new building is on the same lot, less than 1 meter from the old one.

Acid treatment of salmonella
"De Molenaar" is a leading Dutch magazine aimed at the grain processing and feed industries. In issue number 5 of 2009 an article was printed on the suppression of Salmonella by using organic acids in the feed or drinking water. The article was written in by Perstorp's Dr. Albert van Dijk.

Perstorp on International Symposium on Digestive Physiology in Pigs
Perstorp Performance Additives participated in the eleventh International Symposium on Digestive Physiology in Pigs, held in Tarragona, Spain on 20-22 May 2009. The International Symposium on Digestive Physiology in Pigs is a state of the art congress for nutritionists, business people and researchers in swine feeding, held once every three years.

Heat stress and performance - a matter of balance
Heat stress in animals causes a shift in blood pH that suppresses feed intake. Of course this is bad news for the animal’s performance, so optimizing the dietary electrolyte balance (dEB) is often used as a tool to manage the blood pH. The product most often used for this is sodium bicarbonate. We believe that sodium formate is equally effective at managing the dEB of feed. Last August we put this theory to the test.
