Perstorp announces the sale of its remaining part in Polygiene
Leading specialty chemicals company Perstorp AB (part of Perstorp Group) today announces the sale of its remaining part of shares in Polygiene AB to Pooly Holding AB. The divestment is in line with Perstorp’s strategy to focus on and expand its core specialty chemicals activities.
Introduced in 1999 as a product from Perstorp AB, a new and innovative antimicrobial technology quickly gained recognition as an effective and environmentally friendly antimicrobial technology using natural silver salt. Polygiene AB was founded in 2006 as a separate company with Perstorp AB as its principal owner with approximately 30% ownership.
“The sale of Polygiene is a natural step in our strategy of focusing on growing our core technical platforms. The transaction provides Polygiene with an opportunity to develop their business and strong brand with a new owner who is focusing on the antibacterial and textile industries”, says Perstorp’s President & CEO Jan Secher.
Perstorp has during the last year gone through an extensive internal transformation with the primary objective to enable a stronger customer interface. New ways of working have unlocked the organization’s ability to reach its full potential and build for the future. 2015 is the year for delivery on all the committed change projects and an even increased focus on its core business within specialty chemicals.
“Perstorp has started a major transformation process. I’m very happy to see that people are onboard and I have confidence in the direction we are heading in, of which this transaction is also part”, concludes Jan Secher.
