Weaning

In the first few weeks the piglets stay with their mother where they drink milk and sleep a lot. After some time piglets are weaned from their mothers, the timing of course varies throughout countries and types of farming. As most of us know, weaning is the most stressful experience in a piglet’s life and solutions to lower this stress are sought for. Different approaches within feed and feed additives are being promoted. One of the effects of the stress is post-weaning diarrhea. Lowering the effect and prevalence of diarrhea can result in healthier piglets and improved growth. What can you do to soften the effect of weaning?
