Since 2001, Perstorp’s formaldehyde plant at Site Dordrecht has been supplying all the formalin requirements for DuPont’sTM manufacturing of Delrin® at the same location. An evidence of a very successful “over the fence business” for both partners.
DuPont™ Delrin® production unit in Dordrecht is celebrating its 50th anniversary, since its set-up in 1963.It started with a compounding unit in 1963. In 1973, the Delrin® chemical unit started production with all lines installed by 1999.
“Since 2001, Perstorp’s formaldehyde plant at Dordrecht has been supplying all the formalin (55%) requirements for the manufacturing of Delrin® at the same location. It has been a very successful “over the fence” business model for both the partners and still going strong”,says Kamal Khandelwal, Plant Manager, at Perstorp’s formaldehyde plant at Site Dordrecht.
