Perstorp launches Voxtar™, world’s first renewable pentaerythritol platform
Based on renewable raw materials and energy, Voxtar™ has a significantly smaller carbon footprint than conventional fossil-based Penta products. And while Perstorp Penta is a product with a reasonable environmental profile compared to many chemicals, the company has now improved it even further. The Voxtar™ product line shrinks carbon footprint by up to 63% compared to conventional Penta products, all while providing identical properties and performance. In addition, Voxtar™ renewability is independently certified.
“With Voxtar™ we have just made it ingeniously simple for our customers to cut their environmental impact, differentiate their offer, sharpen their competitive edge, and demonstrate their commitment to their customers’ success,” says Vice President Penta & Formates, Ulrika Andersson.
Voxtar™ products maximize value by helping formulators and producers capitalize on the growing demand for renewable alternatives. It enhances performance and minimizes environmental impact in a wide range of end products including high performance alkyd paints and coatings, synthetic lubricants, cosmetic emollients, adhesives, and printing inks.
“While carbon footprint declarations are quickly becoming a ‘license to operate’ in some markets, proven reductions in carbon footprint can give our customers a clear advantage over competitors,” Andersson explains. “There is even potential for our customers to save money on carbon emission credits.”
Voxtar™ presents a particularly interesting opportunity for paint and coatings formulators and sets a new benchmark in environmentally sound, high performance paints. By combining the renewability of Voxtar™ with the latest waterborne technology, high-solid alkyd paints and alkyd emulsion paints secure superior environmental performance with up to 40% reduction in carbon footprint compared to traditional petroleum-based latex paints.
