Perstorp showcasing at European Coatings Show

Perstorp will be participating in European Coatings show in Nuremberg April 21-23 2015.

Visitors to ECS 2015 can look forward to the results of recent capacity expansions and acquisitions. We are also there to celebrate the 40th anniversary of our extensive Capa™ range for polyurethane (PU) coatings, formulators and producers will also be able to try out Perstorp’s new online Product Selector, designed to ease finding the right grade for a specific application from the strong portfolio.

Products to be show cased include:
• A new addition to the Capa portfolio; Capa™ Lactide 8000 series partially renewable polyols for 2K and 1K industrial coatings. These new transparent liquid polyols are particularly suitable for production of high performance soft-touch coatings as well as coatings with enhanced adhesion to various substrates, and which require no solvents. Learn more about our full Capa™ offer here >>

• The latest extension to our Oxymer™ range of polycarbonate diols for increased weatherability of polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) as well as castable and New Oxymer™ HD types Oxymer™ HD56 and Oxymer™ HD112 are based on 1,6-hexane diol.

• Charmor™ PM40 Care, which provides the next development step in safe carbon source products for intumescent systems. It has a unique and unmatchable environmental profile, being based on renewable feedstocks. Learn more about Charmor here >>

Product presentations:

Perstorp will be giving two product presentations at the show:

Charmor™ in intumescent coatings - Protecting people and property
Speaker: Henrik Bernquist – Product manager
Location:  Hall 5, stand no. 5-353
Date & time:  22 April at 12:10-12:30

Intumescent coatings can help save lives in major fires by prolonging the integrity of steel structures. As building fire safety standards around the world become increasingly strict, the interest for this coating technology is continuously increasing.

Intumescent coating systems are applied at a thickness of only a few millimeters, which under normal circumstances look no different from any other type of coatings. In the case of a fire and as the temperature raises the coating reacts to form an insulating carbon foam, or char, that expands to become several centimeters thick. This insulates the structural steel from the heat of the flames, and so prevents or significantly delays it from collapsing. As a result, building occupants have more time to evacuate the building.

In this presentation we will present typical formulations of intumescent coatings and our offer for both solvent borne and water borne formulations. Our latest innovation, a carbon source partially derived from renewable resources with significantly lower carbon footprint will also be presented.

Capa™ Lactide Copolyols
Speaker: Joel Neale - Market Development Manager, Innovation
Location:  Hall 7, Stand no. 7-734
Date & time:  22 April 14:50 – 15:10

During 2015 the Perstorp Group will launch a new series of partially renewable polyester polyols designed for coating and adhesive applications. These polyols are designed with quality and sustainability in mind to capture both market trends for sustainability and existing needs for quality and performance. This presentation will introduce the first four products in the range and their some of their potential application uses.
