From February 12th until February 14th we will be exhibiting at the IPPE 2019. The International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) will be held in Atlanta, Georgia in the USA. It is considered the largest annual trade show for the poultry, meat and feed industries in the Americas.

Why the choice of lubricant base oil matters?
Lubricants are used almost everywhere: in industries, in cars, trucks, trams and locomotives, in air conditioners, refrigerators and cooling systems. The UN SDGs and the lubricant industry: Broadening the sustainability perspective
Sustainability within the lubricant industry has often been discussed through the lens of environmental impact. While reducing environmental harm is crucial, the industry’s contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) extends beyond just environmental considerations. The 17 SDGs and their 169 targets provide a roadmap that encompasses economic, social, and environmental aspects, all of which are critical for a sustainable future. The lubricant industry has recognized this broader framework, acknowledging key goals such as Good Health & Well-being (SDG #3) and Decent Work & Economic Growth (SDG #8). However, the recent industry-wide focus has been predominantly on environmental aspects, particularly Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculations. This focus is justified, as obtaining transparent and standardized data is essential for setting sustainability goals and developing effective roadmaps to achieve them.

Why lubricants matter for sustainable living
When we think of sustainable housing a picture emerges of quality building constructions made of natural and recycled materials surrounded by greenery where our families, friends and entire communities can live and thrive. However the reality is that we are facing great environmental challenges consisting of global warming, limited natural resources and pollution. Therefore we need to carefully evaluate all elements of our modern society and make changes on a broad scale down to the most fundamental components. With this in mind it may not be surprising that also the choice of lubricants can play a significant role in handling these challenges and contribute to sustainable living.
