Notice of Force Majeure - ProPhorce™ AC200 and Calcium formate Tech
Due to power failure at Perstorp Group’s plant in Bruchhausen, Germany, Perstorp has been forced to temporarily close parts of its production. This affects Perstorp's calcium formate production and unfortunately we have to declare Force Majeure as regards to deliveries of ProPhorce™ AC200 and Calcium formate Tech. We are currently taking all measures to resume production and expects to restart within short.

Perstorp launches world’s first portfolio of renewable polyols
World’s first renewable Penta, known as Voxtar™, was launched in 2010. It can reduce carbon footprint by up to 80% compared to fossil alternatives. The addition of two new innovative products; Evyron™ (partly renewable TMP) and Neeture™ (partly renewable Neo) will give Perstorp’s customers a clear market advantage in creating pro-environmental low carbon footprint products.

Perstorp sells its Belgian site with its coating additives activities to Synthomer plc
The specialty chemicals innovator and supplier Perstorp (Perstorp Holding AB) today announces the sale of its additives activities primarily serving the paints and coatings industry produced at its facility at Gent Belgium, Perstorp Belgium (Perstorp Oxo Belgium AB) to Synthomer (Synthomer plc). The total consideration for the sale is €78 million (subject to certain adjustments). The divestment is in line with Perstorp’s strategy to focus on and expand its core chemicals activities.

Formic acid on EU register as hygiene condition enhancer
A recent EU regulatory decision dated June, 2017, concerning Reg. 2017/940, will lead to huge modifications in feed industry daily practices. Formic acid is now classified in functional group 1n: “hygiene condition enhancers” of the EU register of feed additives for the coming decade. This means that it is now allowed to add formic acid to any raw material or feed as a bacterial decontaminating agent (including but not limited to Salmonella), to improve feed hygiene. For the time being formic acid is the only product approved for this application.

Pevalen™ obtains FDA compliance for food contact applications
Perstorp has obtained independent expert opinion advising that its Pevalen™ non-phthalate PVC plasticizer can be used in important food contact applications in the USA. The advice, from an international law firm that has expert knowledge in food contact legislation, says that Pevalen is suitable for use at levels up to 32% in PVC intended to produce conveyor belts and gloves used in meat and poultry processing facilities, as well as in tablecloths.

Perstorp signs Memorandum of Understanding at “Make in India”
Perstorp, a world leader in specialty chemicals has been participating in the event “Make in India”. By signing an MoU with MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation), the company initiates the process of evaluating the opportunity to invest in a new world scale production plant for Penta in India. The related market for coatings is growing fast in the country. Building a world scale production plant would be yet another important part of the ambitious plan to strengthen the position in the Asian Market. In July 2015, Perstorp acquired the Penta business from Koei Chemical Company Ltd., a Japanese chemicals producer.
