Harvesting season is upon us! The first cut of grass has already been harvested in much of the Northern hemisphere. Before you know it grain is ready to be harvested. If you’re a farmer, now is the time to think about how you are going to maintain the quality of your harvested material for as long as necessary.
We have two product ranges that use blends of organic acids and salts of organic acids to prolong the storage time for harvested materials.

Grass: ensure silage quality
Grass is the first major crop to be harvested. Normally it is harvested a few times a year with the first cut taking place in early spring. Ensiling grass properly under the right conditions preserves a high energy and protein content and inhibits unwanted microorganisms such as Clostridia and yeast. Grain: prevent molds and mycotoxins
The safety and integrity of stored grain is of high importance for food and feed. Microbial- and mold contamination in particular are related to a loss of dry matter, valuable nutrients and the formation of mycotoxins which can seriously affect metabolic processes and consequently the performance of farm animals. Our ProSid™ MI mold inhibitors can be used to prolong the storage life of grains and can help to prevent molds and mold related problems. Read more here>>

 

Grain: optimize the crimping process
Moist rolled grain, also named crimped grain provides a very palatable feed, reduces incidences of dust problems and preserves the nutrient value of the grain. Corn: high risk of overheating
Corn is the last crop to be harvested. Its high yield and starch content make it the most used roughage feed for high yielding dairy cows. Corn is usually easy to ensile, but there is high risk of yeast growth and overheating when opening the silo. Use ProMyr™ XR and follow a good protocol for an optimal result. Read more here >>
