Perstorp supports growth in the Middle East

Perstorp’s complete offer of specialties for coatings formulators, enabling products such as fire-resistant coatings with our Charmor® polyalcohols, is strong driver of our growth in the Middle East. Charmor®-based intumescent coatings protect the structure, and people inside, of public buildings including the new terminal of the Dubai International Airport, Dubai Metro stations and recently renovated Meydan Horse Race Course in the United Arab Emirates.

Perstorp products of specific interest in the Middle East:

- Charmor® - When exposed to fire, intumescent coatings with Charmor® swell 10 to 100 times their original thickness and form an insulating carbon char barrier that protects the substrate and building structure.

- Polyol TD - In addition, our new Polyol TD is now offering the market a low-cost alternative to di-ethylene glycol and propylene glycol derivatives for applications including the production of esters, and formulation of hydraulic fluids and lubricants.

- Other key products include locally produced Penta (Pentaerythritol), Isophathalic Acid for gelcoats and powder coatings, Neo (Neopentyl Glycol), and NX 795 and NX 800 efficient coalescers for low-VOC emulsion paints for indoor architectural and decorative use.

”Thanks to the rapidly rising standards of living in the Middle East, the market is growing both in quantity but also in terms of the demand for more technologically advanced solutions that meet the increasing regulatory and consumer demands for higher quality and safety in end-products,” says Maj-Lis Lindberg Pålsson, Regional Sales Manager for Africa and the Middle East.

With a local office in Dubai, since 2008, and increased customer activities, Perstorp is supporting continued expansion in the Middle East and the growing demand for high quality and technologically advanced specialty chemical solutions for this market.

“We aim to be the preferred partner of resin and coating formulators in the Middle East, where we have been operating successfully for over 30 years, by delivering a portfolio of products for alkyd and polyester resins to enhance waterborne, solvent borne and powder coatings,” says Maj-Lis Lindberg Pålsson.

Perstorp will exhibit at Middle East Coatings Show 2010 at stand No D15, 29th - 31st March, 2010.
