Reflections from China Coat 2023
China Coat 2023, Asia's leading coatings industry exhibition, offers valuable insights into the current state and future directions of the coatings sector. This year’s exhibition, which saw an all-time record participation from over 1,040 exhibitors across 31 countries, attracted around 50,000 visitors globally. This included Perstorp’s team, who showcased a range of sustainable products and solutions. Our colleagues attending the event offer their observations and reflections.

Methanol license and engineering services for Project Air initiated
Perstorp has selected Johnson Matthey to provide the methanol license and engineering services for Project Air. This is the first step towards constructing the plant that will provide 200 000 tonnes of sustainable methanol for chemical production, thereby enabling a big step towards breaking fossil dependence of the chemical industry.

Circular packaging based on Perstorp’s Akestra™ 100 and Akestra™ 110 announced as an endorsed solutions in Europe
The Technical Committee of the Tray Circularity Evaluation Platform (TCEP) of PETCORE Europe has officially endorsed the use of Akestra™ 100 and Akestra™ 110, products manufactured by leading specialty chemicals innovator Perstorp, for the production of heat-resistant PET trays. Furthermore, the committee has recognized that the use of Akestra™ 100 and Akestra™ 110 do not have a negative impact on current European PET recycling streams.
