Perstorp and Project Air renew EU application for major green chemistry investment
Sweden’s leading chemistry group Perstorp, and partner companies Fortum and Uniper, today submitted an EUR 97 million application to the EU Innovation Fund for Project Air. This unique project aims to build a production facility for sustainable methanol in Stenungsund, Sweden, which could reduce global CO2 emissions by 400,000 tonnes, equivalent to approximately 1% of Sweden’s territorial emissions.

Perstorp och Project Air förnyar svensk miljardsatsning på grön kemi
Sveriges ledande kemikoncern Perstorp har tillsammans med partnerföretagen Fortum och Uniper idag lämnat in en ansökan till Europeiska innovationsfonden om stöd för Project Air, uppgående till 97 miljoner Euro. Project Air är en i Sverige unik satsning som, genom att bygga en produktionsanläggning för hållbar metanol i Stenungsund, kan reducera världens koldioxidutsläpp med 400 000 ton - motsvarande nära 1 procent av hela Sveriges nuvarande utsläpp.

スウェーデンの大手化学グループであるPerstorp社は、パートナー企業であるFortum社およびUniper社とともに、本日、EUイノベーションファンドにプロジェクト・エアーへの9,700万ユーロの資金調達を申請しました。このユニークなプロジェクトは、スウェーデンのステヌングスンドに持続可能なメタノール製造施設を建設することを目的としており、これにより、40万トン（スウェーデンの地域別排出量の約1％に相当）のCO2排出量を削減することができます。

Perstorp has set Science Based Targets in line with Paris Agreement
Perstorp Group greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative, meaning they are consistent with levels required to meet the goals of the 2015 Paris Agreement. The targets covering greenhouse gas emissions from Perstorp’s operations (Scopes 1 and 2*) are consistent with reductions required to keep warming to 1.5°C, the most ambitious goal of the Paris Agreement.

Perstorp makes product carbon footprint values available for 85 % of its sales volume
Perstorp is aligning with the new industry standard for product carbon footprint (PCF), developed by the industrial initiative Together for Sustainability. Perstorp can already provide product carbon footprint values for about 85 % of its products (based on sales volume), and is continuously adding more products.
