Esters of butyric acid, buturates, have a pleasant smell and are, in addition to the feed segment, used in flavors and fragrances. Perstorp Butyric Acid is pure n-butyric acid which is used as a chemical intermediate for feed additives, phamaceuticals and other chemicals. The most famous characteristic is the very pungent, rancid smell.
