Analyzing the regulatory changes and challenges of TMPTA
In 2018, a significant development occurred in the chemical industry when the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) labeled TMPTA as a Group 2B substance, suggesting it might be carcinogenic to humans. This decision, detailed in the 2019 IARC Monograph Series, was based on research involving mice and rats. However, the methodology, particularly the use of acetone in these studies, sparked debate among experts. Despite the ongoing discussions, regulatory bodies have yet to revise their stance on TMPTA.

Reflections from China Coat 2023
China Coat 2023, Asia's leading coatings industry exhibition, offers valuable insights into the current state and future directions of the coatings sector. This year’s exhibition, which saw an all-time record participation from over 1,040 exhibitors across 31 countries, attracted around 50,000 visitors globally. Methanol license and engineering services for Project Air initiated
Perstorp has selected Johnson Matthey to provide the methanol license and engineering services for Project Air. This is the first step towards constructing the plant that will provide 200 000 tonnes of sustainable methanol for chemical production, thereby enabling a big step towards breaking fossil dependence of the chemical industry.
