Perstorp offers innovation with commitment at Abrafati 2013
Perstorp, a world leader in specialty chemicals, will be exhibiting several new products this year at Abrafati. Capa™ and Voxtar™ will be featured as leading coating product technologies with a focus on high performance and sustainability. This is also an opportunity to update customers on several major investments and market developments that will have a positive impact for the region of Latin America.
Capa™ set to capture market share in Latin America
Perstorp is the world leader in caprolactones, both in terms of global capacity as well as the scientific development of this innovative polyol technology.
We have geared up for the Latin American market by doubling our capacity because we are experiencing strong growth for Capa™, which we expect to continue into the foreseeable future”, Nataly Costa da Silva, Market Development Manager, Latin America, comments.
Capa™ is a very versatile specialty polyol, and is particularly important in leather finishing applications. Capa™ offers enhanced toughness and good UV resistance in thermally cured high-solid coatings and superior abrasion resistance for coatings in tough applications. Currently Perstorp has over 80 grades of Capa™ available.
“This gives our customers a major advantage, as we are better able with so many grades, to individually fine-tune the performance based on their requirements”, Nataly Costa da Silva emphasizes.
Capa™ is also being used in coating formulations within fast growing sectors, such as radiation curing and biodegradable films, offering customers more sustainable and faster coating solutions.
Voxtar™ the rock star of renewable pentaerythritol
Voxtar™ is Perstorp’s renewable pentaerythritol and an excellent example of a successful replacement for fossil raw materials with renewable ones in the existing process, without having to make major and costly infrastructure changes. Carbon footprints can directly be reduced by up to 75% with Voxtar™, without compromising performance. The success of Voxtar™ since its launch 2 years ago has led to the development of our extended renewable offer, which will be presented at Abrafati.
In addition to Capa™ and Voxtar™ other Perstorp products to be featured include Boltorn™, Charmor™ PM40 CARE for intumescent coatings with a sharpened sustainability profile, and NX800 a coalescent for odorless paints.
