No restrictions on milk production per farm in the EU - ProMyr™
In the Netherlands many farmers took the opportunity to expand. But of course more cows produce more manure which has a huge environmental impact. Therefore there is new legislation in place in which the farmers get restrictions on the amount of phosphorous they are allowed to produce.
Several actions will be taken in general:
- Lower amount of phosphorous in concentrates
- More efficient use of minerals on the farm
A solid preservation of your silage can bring you:
- Less concentrates needed so less phosphorous.
- Higher milk yield per cow, which means less phosphorous per kg milk
