Perstorp celebrated 125 years

Perstorp’s 125th anniversary celebrations got off to a fine start when people were invited to an Open House at the Perstorp plant. Around 1,500 attended the celebrations despite temperatures of close to 30°C and the newly-opened World Cup in football. It’s a long-standing tradition to host an Open House at the production plant in Perstorp. It was obvious that this year it should be part of the special anniversary celebrations. The aim of the event was to create a day for the entire family, where both young and old could find something that was fun and interesting. Popular activities during the Open House included guided tours, plant visits, the Perstorp High school’s experimentarium, musical entertainment, face painting and pony rides.  In addition all birthday guests were offered cake and coffee, just like a regular birthday party!

A golf tournament and official jubilee day was organized for Perstorp customers, suppliers and other contacts. The golf tournament attracted 72 participants and was held at Perstorp Golf Club. The jubilee day consisted of a program in which 200 guests were treated to a guided tour of the plant, a visit to Perstorp’s new  formic acid plant, a history lecture and a preview of Plastens Hus, a recently opened exhibition focusing on the evolution of plastics. The day ended with a meal, drinks and a Capella choir.

The finale of the entire anniversary week consisted of a party for employees. The 125th anniversary will be further observed during the year.
