Perstorp presents unique bio-diesel for the Nordic climate at Elmia Lastbil 2014

Elmia Lastbil 2014 will be held on August 20-23, with Perstorp taking part for the third time. Verdis Polaris™ is in focus this year – a bio-diesel made from 100% fossil-free origins. Because the product can be used in most diesel-driven vehicles and can be mixed with any other diesel, it offers a simple solution for players in the transport industry wishing to convert to renewable fuels, thereby contributing to a more sustainable climate.

Perstorp is Scandinavia’s leading bio-diesel producer, with one of Europe’s most modern and efficient RME plants, located in Stenungsund. In addition to manufacturing high-quality bio-diesel, the company also researches and develops standards and measuring methods. Perstorp is also fully committed to developing the political prerequisites for the transfer to a fossil-free fuel transport sector, including involvement in Svebio and the user council for sustainability criteria. Taking part in Elmia Lastbil, which is one of the biggest meeting places for the haulage and transport industry, goes without saying.

”Elmia Lastbil is an excellent forum for us to meet customers and interested parties on an ever expanding transport market,” says Susanne Eckersten, Product Manager BioFuels. “The main focus at the trade fair is to highlight the two products in our bio-diesel family made from Scandinavian rapeseed oil and specially adapted for our Nordic climate: Verdis Polaris™ Flora and Verdis Polaris™ Aura. Verdis Polaris™ Aura is a new and further developed product that also contains renewable methanol. We use a special technique when making the product meaning that our products are extremely pure and of the highest quality, which has been noticed by a number of motor manufacturers around Europe. We are very pleased to see that most are now setting the same fuel recommendations.”

By driving on Verdis Polaris™ instead of fossil diesel, reduces emissions of CO2 by more than 60%, which is well in line with the increasingly stricter climate and environment targets set by the EU. The product is fully sustainable because it soon breaks down in nature and contains no toxic substances.

”Verdis Polaris™ Aura is tax-exempt because it is a completely fossil-free fuel and provides unbeatable reliability for the Nordic climate. As a fuel, Verdis Polaris™ Aura is the biofuel that offers the best benefits to the climate on the market. All of this means that we hope this product will be an attractive alternative to players in the transport sector and motor manufacturers who have so far had a wait-and-see attitude towards biofuel,” says Susanne.
