Safe summer work at Site Perstorp – “Summer work safely” is back

This year’s edition of “Summer work safely” has just begun at our production unit in Perstorp. The introduction days, focused on safety, gives 110 youths the opportunity to learn more about safe summer working routines and skills at Perstorp.

The introduction days, called {sommarjobba säkert – summer work safely}, are mandatory and aimed at educating all summer workers in the importance of safety while working at Perstorp.

The opening introduction days, held at the beginning of this week, were designed for new summer workers, working their first summer at Perstorp in the production. But the “summer work safely” concept is tailor made to fit all summer workers’ needs and tasks during the summer – the training differs depending on the type of job the summer worker will carry out – production, laboratory work or administrative tasks – , and if they have worked at Perstorp before or not.

Around 150 mentors at Site Perstorp are trained to take on the responsibility for on-the-job training and leading the summer workers in their daily activities. The introduction days will continue on during the beginning of June.

Mats Tallving, Internal Communication Manager, and Catarina Gustafsson, Safety Advisor & EHS Assistant, are coordinating the project.

“These are very inspirational days. Organizing and executing the introduction days for our summer workers is a true team effort engaging many members of staff across our whole organization. Their energy and dedication to this project is amazing. It is also very pleasing to welcome so many clever, curious and responsible summer workers to Perstorp”, says Mats Tallving.
