For many applications, Perstorp polyurethanes (PUs) are primarily used in three ways as briefly described below.
Elastomer crosslinkers and chain extenders
Our TMP has many uses, e.g. as a crosslinking polyol for cast elastomers to improve the hardness-compression set ratio.
Polyol TP08 is liquid TMP that facilitates handling and improves elastomer hardness/flexibility.
Polyols TP30 and PP30 allow control of crosslink density and maintain the resilience and toughness of PUs.
Boltorn® H2003 and H204 dendritic polymers improve scratch resistance and toughness.
Perstorp’s Oxymer range of polycarbonate diols helps improve the mechanical performance, weatherability and chemical resistance of PUs.
BEPD gives outstanding hydrolytic resistance to polyester adipates used as chain extenders and macrodiols.
Boltorn® polymer polyols for high-firmness molded foam
In partnership with a leading automotive foam supplier, Perstorp has developed a unique technology
whereby dendritic polymer polyols are used to improve the firmness of high-resilience foam. Thanks to this, more than one million car owners already enjoy superior seating comfort.
Raw materials for polyurethane dispersions
Perstorp is the leading supplier of Bis-MPA, the anionic monomer of choice when preparing polyurethane dispersions for wood and other applications. Our Oxymer™ range is also ideal as macrodiols for PUDs, giving excellent hydrolytic resistance and outstanding weatherability.
