CaFo Tech considerably extends the adhesive’s open time making it much more convenient to work with.
B
y prolonging the open time a larger surface area can be prepared, significantly speeding-up the tiling process and promoting a more productive working method. CaFo Tech acts to minimise skin formation which dries out the adhesive prematurely leading to a poor quality bond or adhesion once the tile is set. CaFo Tech not only increases the adhesion properties between the tile and wall, but also accelerates the bonding process once applied. The result is always a stable, quality finish.
CaFo Tech accelerates the hardening process by up to 30% depending on the type of cellulose ether used in the product formula. Adding cellulose to the tile adhesive helps to give a good water retention, suitable paste transfer and no sagging. CaFo Tech improves adhesion after delayed tile application due to the considerably prolonged open time. Skin formation is delayed and the effective working time is substantially prolonged. CaFo Tech also increases the adhesion strength, which is a measurement of the tile joint’s adhesive flexibility, both long and short term.
Features and benefits in brief
- CaFo Tech gives the tile adhesive a more creamy and even consistency, which makes it more pliable and easier to work with. This eliminates the problem of “sticky adhesive”.
- CaFo Tech increases the adhesive’s water stability. This means that tiles are stable after drying, even in moist environments, such as shower rooms and swimming pools. CaFo Tech makes it easier for tile adhesives to achieve the European standards for usage in moist environments.
- CaFo Tech has been specially processed to be odorless. Being odourless is environmentally advantageous for people working with CaFo Tech.
- CaFo Tech is chloride free. The product is a salt made from formic acid with such a low salt con-tent that it is regarded as chloride free. This mini-mises the risk for corrosion of reinforcement steel.
- CaFo Tech is white, crystalline and free flowing. It has an optimal particle size to ensure that it dissolves easily and efficiently.
