Perstorp opens new feed additives plant in India
Feed additive producer Perstorp has opened a feed additive production plant in Vapi, India. Opening a production location in Asia is part of Perstorp’s plan to increase its presence on the Asian feed additives market. Marc Kinjet has been appointed as Business Development Manager Asia to oversee continued growth.
Perstorp has long been looking for the right opportunity to strengthen its position in the growing Asian market where they see a fast growing demand for Perstorp feed additives. To meet customer demands Perstorp has a history of developing cost-efficient solutions. Now Perstorp will continue on that path with an increased focus for the Asian market. As a result of the strategic direction it was decided at the beginning of 2010 to use the existing infrastructure and invest at Perstorp’s production site in Vapi, India. The facility has now been optimized to produce high quality feed additives. The main focus of the plant is the production of preservatives, which includes mould inhibitors (ProSid™ MI), anti-oxidants (ProTain™ OT) and acidifiers (ProPhorce™ AC).
“Producing feed additives in India for the fast growing Asian market makes it possible for us to shorten lead times and to improve our service level even more” according to Marc Kinjet, Business Development Manager Asia. “One way to show commitment to quality was to acquire certification according to the European Feed Additives and Premixture Quality System, FAMI-QS. Perstorp Vapi has been the proud owner of a FAMI-QS certificate since November of last year.”
