Perstorp and Chemanol in co-operation to build Penta plant in Saudi

Perstorp have entered an agreement on building a Penta plant in Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia, in association with Chemanol, a co-operation that fits perfectly into our strategy of global presence and strengthens its position in this geographic area.

Through a co-operation agreement, Chemanol, formerly the Saudi Formaldehyde Chemical Company Co Ltd (SFCCL), will build a Penta plant at Al-Jubail, in Saudi Arabia, with Perstorp ‘state-of-the-art’ technology. Chemanol will be responsible for production while Perstorp will handle sales of the end products through its existing sales channels.

“The co-operation in building this Penta plant is strategically important for the Perstorp Group. We have been present on the region’s expanding market for many years, and via this co-operation we can increase services to our customers,” says Bo Dankis, President and CEO of Perstorp. “The Perstorp Group currently produces Penta in five countries on four continents.”

Chemanol project status
The engineering for the plant has been completed and the supply orders are being placed. The plant is estimated to be ready for commissioning in the second half of 2008.
