Intensified focus on products for polyurethanes
We are currently engaged in a global effort to grow as a niche supplier of products for polyurethanes and have set up a dedicated R&D team to prioritize innovation for our polyurethanes customers.
The unique properties and the virtually endless design possibilities of polyurethanes have ensured widespread use in many industrial and domestic applications. Our decision to strengthen their position in this market means that their already extensive product range will continue to expand to meet the demands of an ever-increasing variety of applications.
Furthermore, we intend to cater to the needs of companies with small to medium volume requirements. Being a niche supplier allows them to offer these customers innovation based on their needs and tailored product solutions.
Setting aside the dedicated R&D resources to innovate based on the needs of customers will allow us to develop new product solutions that are tailored to exact demands and achieve very specific properties.
"We have a core team in Sweden working with product and application development of elastomers and flexible foam and we are also setting up a technical center in India, where we will initially offer technical support for flexible foam," reports Bo Häggman, Perstorp Global Market Development Manager.
We also plan to conduct more in-depth market analysis and will expand our market development team. In addition, participation in the major polyurethane exhibitions and the communication of new development through the presentation of technical papers will be important in increasing our focus on the polyurethanes market.
"We have a unique product portfolio that will help polyurethane formulators meet the growing technical and environmental demands and we are intensifying our efforts to increase awareness of this," Häggman explains.
The most important end-use areas expected to benefit from increased durability, comfort and safety, are automotive seating, bedding foam, scratch and chemical resistant coatings and specialty sealants and adhesives.
We offer a wide range of products that are suitable for cross-linkers and chain extenders, as well as Boltorn® dendritic polymer polyols that deliver exceptional end-product performance and a unique range of alcohols and polyols.
