Three new ensiling products are being launched for the 2006 season: Promyr NF, Promyr XE and Profor. They are collectively known as the new generation of ensiling agents. All three objectives in the development of the new products have been met, namely increased cost-efficiency, reduction of the products' corrosive properties and products containing no ammonia.
"The three parameters were central to us during development. Less corrosive properties and lower cost are the direct feedback from farmers who've used our products. The reason we want to remove ammonia is because it can negatively affect the protein value in the feed and the milk yield," says Helena Häggblad, responsible for market development of ensiling agents.
Results from tests made with Sweden's Agricultural College in Uppsala over two seasons were successful. The pH reduction, which is important in ensiling agents, has improved considerably. The three new products are based on the same raw materials but have different formulas.
