New product launch - Boltorn® P500
Perstorp has recently launched a new dendritic polymer polyol suitable for high-firmness molded foam – Boltorn® P500.
It is a liquid product with a molecular weight of 1500 g/mole, a viscosity of 12 000 mPas at 23 °C, and a hydroxyl value of 590 mg KOH/g.
Boltorn® P500 is a cross-linking polymer polyol that has been found to give exceptionally low compression set at high firmness when used in conventional molded foam formulations. The low compression set provided by Boltorn® P500 allows foamers to develop molded seat formulations with good processing properties, and high firmness yet lower average density not possible with current formulations. Perstorp has found that Boltorn® P500 is particularly suitable for TDI-based molded foam, where Boltorn® P500 is typically partially replacing conventional co-polymer polyols to obtain improved process stability and low compression set.
