“The acquisition of Franklin is completely in line with Perstorp's market strategy for feed additives. The Group will also implement an investment plan, which will include two new plants, one for formic acid and one for propionic acid production. The market for feed additives is rapidly expanding, and growth is being partly driven by the future EU directive against the use of antibiotics in animal feed. This acquisition widens our product portfolio and strengthens the positions on an important market for us,” says Paul Österberg, Business Unit Food & Feed manager.
Franklin, based in the Netherlands, deals with feed additives mainly based on organic acids. Franklin is a mid-sized company with a comprehensive distribution network. The company has 40 employees and its strength lies in various specialty segments. The acquisition will be completed 2005-04-01.
