Franklin, with base in the Netherlands, is active in feed additives based on organic acids. Franklin is a medium sized company with a wide distribution network and its strength in the specialty segments with 40 own employees. Take over is expected to take place during first quarter of 2005.

- Perstorp is a supplier of formic and propionic acid, important raw materials for feed additives based on organic acids. Furthermore Perstorp is a major supplier of organic salts and silage additive to the agriculture sector. The acquisition will give Perstorp a comprehensive product portfolio and strengthen the position of Perstorp on the fast growing organic acid feed additives segment. The fast growth is driven by the ban of use of non prescribed antibiotics in EU that will be enforced from January 2006, says Paul Österberg, Business Unit Manager Feed and Food, Perstorp.

- The take over by Perstorp enables Franklin to maintain a steady growth in sales of the acid based feed additives. Franklin achieved double digit growth figures over the last five years and is highly ranked among the specialty blenders, says Frank Snijders founder of Franklin and President of Silver Lining Finance SA.
