I started my career with Perstorp in Castellanza, Italy but moved to Sweden in 2001. I have held my current position, in customer service, for the last three years after a short stint in unloading.
The most important function of my job is to handle and process customer orders, which requires careful attention to detail. It is also vital to keep in mind that though the customer may not always be right, they are always very important. It can be a challenge but I really enjoy working with our clients to make sure they are satisfied.
Understanding cultural differences when working with clients and colleagues from other countries is probably the greatest challenge I face in my position. The best part of my job is all the contact I have with customers in other countries and I also enjoy cooperating with customer service and logistics administration offices within Perstorp. Stressful situations arise occasionally but I try to handle it in a positive way and always stay cool and collected.
I would describe Perstorp as a good company of nice people with convenient working hours, especially for families with young children. A global player, like Perstorp, accommodates many different working processes within one company which requires excellent organisation. Our offices, in Sweden, Italy, the United States, the UK and France for example, follow the same guidelines but each works differently toward the common goal.
