Perstorp Coatings, located in Freeport Texas, was acquired by Perstorp AB in 9/2008 from Rhodia SA. The site is situated in Brazoria County in Texas and is among several international chemical companies located in the area. 

The Freeport site is 50 acres with existing facilities on 30 of those acres. The site is surrounded by other chemical manufacturing facilities.

Manufacturing began at the facility in 1969 with production of Terpene based chemicals. It has produced different chemical families throughout the life of the plant. Today, Freeport is focused on Isocyanates (Tolonates) production, the site produces Isocynates derivatives (Tolonates) that serves an international market. The product is used in the paint and coatings industry, plastic processing and automotive industries.  

Freeport is ISO 9001-2008 certified.  The site has a long history of high levels of performance in both safety and quality and fully supports the Perstorp value of no priority higher than safety and environment.
